The SOS in a jar. Payot N°2 Soothing Aromatic Balm is the cult French targeted treatment for sensitive, reactive and easily inflamed skin. A rich, comforting balm designed not as an everyday moisturiser, but as a hyper local rescue for the patches of skin that flare up, redden, sting or react out of nowhere.

Originally launched as N°2 L'Original, this is the formula three generations of Payot devotees have reached for at the first sign of irritation. A heritage Parisian remedy, reinvented for modern reactive skin and tucked into a luxurious 30ml jar.

The balm gets its therapeutic credentials from two carefully chosen essential oils. Lavender oil calms the skin and eases the visible signs of redness, working in harmony with thyme oil, which delivers a clean, antibacterial action that supports the recovery of weakened, irritated areas. Around them, a soothing botanical core. Licorice extract works as a powerful natural anti-inflammatory, calming the look of redness and irritation. Zinc oxide protects and supports recovery on stressed skin with gentle antibacterial action. Nourishing sesame and corn oils and a protective wax base shield the area, locking in the actives and creating a comforting cocoon that lets reactive skin settle and rebuild.

Apply locally at the very first sign of redness, irritation or post procedure sensitivity. Within minutes, the area looks calmer. Within hours, redness visibly fades. With repeated use, sensitive skin learns to behave again.

Step 1. Cleanse the affected area gently using a sensitivity friendly, low foaming cleanser and pat the skin dry.

Step 2. Take a small amount of balm onto a clean fingertip. A little goes a long way.

Step 3. Press the balm gently onto the red, irritated or weakened area only. Avoid rubbing the surrounding skin.

Step 4. Allow the balm to settle. The protective texture is intentional, do not blot away.

Step 5. Reapply morning and evening as needed until the area has fully calmed.

Use as a targeted SOS treatment, not as a daily all over moisturiser. For everyday calm, pair with the Payot N°2 Soothing Cloud Cream.
